Services Chartering

The chartering department for inland waterways / coastal / tanker and short sea shipping is centrally located at our headquarters in RENDSBURG, while our branch in HAMBURG is in charge for large Minibulkers, Handy-, Ultramax up to Panamax/Post-Panamax size.

As a broker, AHLMANN-ZERSSEN is specialized in the transportation of bulk goods in Northern and Southern Europe, the Baltic States, the entire Mediterranean region up to the Black Sea and the Central European inland waterways – always depending on the customer's requirements – also in combined transports. Inquiries about containers and time charters are also welcome.

The goods fixed for smallest ship units up to sizes of 60 / 80,000 tons, vary from all agricultural products such as grain, animal feed, oilseeds and fertilizers, to e.g. pig iron, coal, stones, soda and wood – and also general cargoes and heavy goods / project cargoes (e.g. ship engines, generators, transformers, wind turbines, etc.).

In addition, AHLMANN-ZERSSEN acts as shipowner with its own coaster tonnage, and as a correspondence broker for coaster and barges chartered exclusively, in order to be more independent of the market and thus more flexible in responding to customer requests. (You can find a list of our ships here.)

Besides the ISO 9001:2015 certification AHLMANN-ZERSSEN is certified according to the GMP+ Feed Certification scheme 2020 with the scopes affreightment of inland waterway transport and affreightment of short sea shipping.
